  • Excavated from a Villa near Pompeii, the low small goblet has been reproduced in pewter by the Réunion des musées nationaux et du Grand Palais in Paris. Known as the treasure of Boscoreale, the excavation uncovered over 100 pieces buried under the lava from the eruption of Vesuvius. The pieces, including the goblet, reflected the refined tableware of the original owner, who clearly was a man of taste.
