Tim Walker burst onto the photographic scene in the early 1990s with a series of spectacular editorial images that captured the spirit of the times, weaving together past and present, reality and fantasy. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London (V&A) began collecting Walker's work in 1998, and their long association made his photographs a natural subject for the museum's latest cycle of contemporary projects, including this collaborative exhibition of richly imaginative images inspired by Walker's research into the V&A and Getty Museum collections.

The exhibition Tim Walker: Wonderful Things is on view at the J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center from May 2 through August 20, 2023.
