Assyrian Wool Scarf

Wool scarf featuring the winged bull known as Lamassu. To the Assyrians, Lamassu was a protective deity, often depicted in relief or in the round, and often placed at gateways of Assyrian citadels or palaces to protect from demonic forces. King Ashurbanipal of the Assyrian empire kept winged bull figures in the entrance of his throne room at his palace.
