The postcard book is based on Joseph Dalton Hooker's (English, 1817-1911) publication of his Illustrations of Himalayan Plants. His selection was based on "scientific interest with remarkable beauty in form, or colour, or some other qualification that would render them eminently worthy of cultivation in England."
