Greek Kylix Cup Featuring Dionysos

Located at the base of the Acropolis in the Plaka, the oldest section of Athens, is a charming workshop and gallery where artisan Sofia Gkani creates intricately detailed replicas of classical Greek vessels. Beautifully hand-painted, Sofia meticulously reproduces Corinthian, Geometric, Red or Black Figure designs on each unique terracotta piece. Each vessel is signed and numbered by the artist.

Depicted inside this kylix cup is Dionysos seated in his boat. Surrounding the boat are pirates Dionysos has turned into dolphins. The protective eyes of Exekias are depicted on the outside of the cup.
