Getty Exhibition Banner (set of 2) - Picture Worlds

Beautifully designed banners first flew above the streets of Los Angeles in 1997 to herald the opening of the Getty Center. Since that time, they have promoted rotating exhibitions at both the Getty Center and Villa Museums. Because the vinyl fabric has been exposed to outdoor elements, slight inconsistencies are to be expected. Produced in Los Angeles exclusively for Getty. Quantities are limited.

Sold as a set of 2. The banners are being sold on a first come, first served basis, as the supply is very limited. All banners incorporate mandated air vent cutouts.

Shipping and delivery: Banners ordered now will be cleaned and shipped to customers approximately 4-8 weeks after the exhibit closes on July 29th, 2024.

- Each banner measures 35" W x 96" H (approximately 3' W x 8' H)
- The vinyl banners can be cleaned with a damp cloth
- Item #: BNRPW3

Mighty deities, brave heroes, and fantastic beings adorn the terracotta vessels of the ancient Greeks in the Mediterranean, the Maya in central America, and the Moche of northern Peru. This exhibition juxtaposes these three distinct ceramic traditions and explores the ways in which painted pottery served as a dynamic means of storytelling and social engagement.
