Each one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry in this collection features Greek and Roman-inspired iconography. Made in Italy, our multi-colored glass intaglios are made from pate-de-verre, or glass paste, using the lost wax technique. Each has individualized settings made of 18K gold-plated sterling silver designed and handcrafted exclusively for the Getty by California artist, Maria de la Luz. Our Italian cameos are made by skilled artisans using traditional techniques and are entirely engraved by hand. Carved in shell and set in sterling silver and 14K gold-plate, the contrasting hues enhance the appearance of depth and composition in each piece.
