Getty x OuiSi: Art Cards with Creative Games

Getty x OuiSi is a set of 210 Art Cards from the J. Paul Getty Museum collection, with a Guidebook full of creative games and activities.

Each Art Card displays a close-up of an artistic element found in a museum artwork, from Van Gogh’s Irises to items never before on display. On the back of each Art Card, you’ll find a full picture of the artwork, as well as a QR code that links to a unique page at www.getty.edu. There, players can learn more about each artwork and artist.

A novel aspect of Getty x OuiSi is that it highlights the repetition of patterns, shapes and colors found in the museum collection (and life itself). When two Art Cards feature similar elements – circles, for example – that makes a “Visual Connection.” Thousands of Visual Connections are waiting to be found, each offering a delightful “aha!” moment.

The Guidebook contains 7 creative activities like OuiSinoes (visual dominoes), OuiSi Draw and OuiSi Scavenger. You’ll also find official art references for each Art Card (for players who prefer a completely offline experience).

Through play and conversation, this visual feast lets players visit (and revisit) the museum collection from their homes and classrooms. Explore Getty x OuiSi solo or with others; built for ages 4 to 104.
