Each piece in this collection is crafted from recycled exhibition banners that highlighted the following previous exhibitions, William Blake: Visionary and Manet and Modern Beauty.

The collection features an L.A. logo designed by legendary street artist Prime, inspired by his original artwork for the cover of the Getty Graffiti Black Book (LA Liber Amicorum), which brought together 143 works on paper by some of L.A.’s most prominent graffiti and tattoo art-writing crews.
Prime, a founding father of stylized street-lettering in Los Angeles, helped define the city’s visual identity through his early geometric “calligraffiti,” known locally as Cholo script, a style that became synonymous with tagging one's turf.
