This set of 10 graphite pencils (5 of each design) includes a sharpener and comes packaged in a vibrant tin embellished with the print "Prismatic" and other color diagrams by artist and engraver Moses Harris. The hand painted print and diagrams are from his book, The Natural System of Colour, published around 1776 in England. Harris is said to be the inventor of the color wheel, and his hand-tinted etching is possibly the earliest depiction of its type. The work is derived from the three primary colors: red, yellow and blue.
