This holiday card features a modification of a color theory print in the shape of a star based on a shaded color wheel by artist and engraver Moses Harris. This hand-painted print is from his book
The Natural System of Color, published around 1776 in England. Harris is said to be the inventor of the color wheel, and his hand-tinted etching of the color wheel is possibly the earliest depiction of its type. The drawing is derived from the three primary colors: red, yellow, and blue.
