Mira Calligraphiae Alphabet Shawl

This lovely, oversized shawl is the product of a collaboration with the Italian design house Faliero Sarti and features artwork in the Museum’s celebrated 16th-century Model Book of Calligraphy by Joris Hoefnagel.

Joris Hoefnagel was a self taught artist who was a prominent figure in Netherlands' art history. A true Renaissance man, Hoefnagel wrote poetry, mastered many languages, played instruments, in addition to working on topographical drawings, maps, oil paintings, and illuminations.
