This porcelain votive from Bernardaud is skillfully crafted to reveal exquisite detail when a tea light candle hidden inside is lit. For a dramatic effect, delight your dinner guests by replacing traditional candles with these special lights.
The Lithophane (VotivelightTM) is a traditional engraving technique on a fine bisque (non-glazed) porcelain that was first demonstrated by French artist Paul de Bourgoing in 1828, used to this day by artisans to hand-sculpt these exquisite objects. In the world of French art de vivre, Bernardaud has been considered the symbol of elite refinement and luxury since its establishment in Limoges, France in 1863.
Do not leave a lighted votive unattended. Porcelain votive is fragile - handle with care. A small LED light is also an option to illuminate the porcelain votive.
Shown illuminated to highlight detail, this stylish votive is a rich white porcelain when not in use.
